About Noelle

I studied English and American Literature at UEA and then worked as an occupational therapist in mental health services for 30 years. I bring my profession’s philosophy of working alongside people towards achieving maximum independence. I’ve done this in numerous ways including using art, yoga, shared reading and allotment gardening.

Through my professional development I gained a Master's in Vocational Rehabilitation, an EMCC Coaching Accreditation, and I am trained in Mindfulness techniques.

All the above proved surprisingly useful when I qualified as an Iyengar yoga teacher in 2017. I continue my learning by accessing workshops and classes by highly respected UK teachers and visiting teachers from India and elsewhere. I am currently working towards Level 2 accreditation.

I firmly believe that in a safe, supportive and fun yet challenging environment all students can benefit and progress in their yoga practice, no matter what their starting point is. Everyone is welcome to my classes: just arrive with an open mind, a sense of curiosity and a willingness to have a go and see what happens!

Through my yoga practice I became increasingly interested in yoga philosophy. This led me first to the Yoga Sutras of Sage Patanjali. Then I progressed to trying to deepen my knowledge of the Bhagavad Gita. For some reason I chose to do this by retelling it as a novel about two women on a Yorkshire allotment.
